      Description

      Working with customer to monitor queries only. I know this worked within the last few months on older versions prior to QAN being added to grafana.

      Docker created

      docker run -d  -p 443:443  --volumes-from pmm-data  --name pmm-server --restart always -e ORCHESTRATOR_ENABLED=true -e ORCHESTRATOR_USER=orchestrator -e ORCHESTRATOR_PASSWORD=orc -e SERVER_USER=pmmadmin -e SERVER_PASSWORD=pmm -v /etc/pmm-certs:/etc/nginx/ssl percona/pmm-server:latest

      clients:

      apt-get install pmm-client
      pmm-admin config --server pmmserver --server-insecure-ssl --server-user pmmadmin --server-password pmm
      pmm-admin add mysql:queries --user pmmclient --password pmm

      Does not work. We tried adding linux metrics to make it recognize. Customer cannot implement mysql metrics in prod. The workaround was to add mysql metrics and them remove them.

      apt-get install pmm-client
      pmm-admin config --server pmmserver --server-insecure-ssl --server-user pmmadmin --server-password pmm
      pmm-admin add mysql --user pmmclient --password pmm
      pmm-admin remove mysql:metrics

      Mysql settings:

      SET GLOBAL log_output=file;
      SET GLOBAL slow_query_log=ON;
      SET GLOBAL long_query_time=0;
      SET GLOBAL log_slow_rate_limit=100;
      SET GLOBAL log_slow_rate_type=query;
      SET GLOBAL log_slow_verbosity=full;
      SET GLOBAL log_slow_admin_statements=ON;
      SET GLOBAL log_slow_slave_statements=ON;
      SET GLOBAL slow_query_log_always_write_time=1;
      SET GLOBAL slow_query_log_use_global_control=all;
      SET GLOBAL innodb_monitor_enable=all;
      SET GLOBAL userstat=1;
      SET GLOBAL innodb_monitor_enable=all;

       Adding only mysql:queries used to work and should continue to work.
