The problem: there is no clear way/steps to report a bug into the PMM project for the external user, however, we have an internal guide. This lead to more complicated investigations with bug reports.
Additionally, we need a simple link to be used on forums or messages.
- create a nested page in https://www.percona.com/doc/percona-monitoring-and-management/2.x/contact.html with content from https://confluence.percona.com/display/PMM/PMM2+Bug+Description+and+comments . ( title: How to Report a bug to Percona Monitoring and Management )
- Update all links (in doc, FAQ, git repos ) to this separate page
- later, the contributing guide will go also the nested page
We don't currently have any kind of documentation on how to solicit bug reports for PMM...we assume the person can figure it out (obviously many do) but this would be a nice thing to add to give better guidance on what we want/need. Here's one example I found that's not a bad start:
can also be eventually turned into a broader guide on submitting a bug or submitting a patch/feature!
