      Description

      As per Percona Upgrade document,

      https://www.percona.com/doc/percona-server/8.0/upgrading_guide.html

      {{}}

      /etc/my.cnf Backed Up in CentOS 7
      In CentOS 7, the /etc/my.cnf configuration file is backed up when you uninstall the Percona Server for MySQLpackages with the rpm -e --nodeps command.
      The backup file is stored in the same directory with the _backup suffix followed by a timestamp: etc/my.cnf_backup-20181201-1802.service mysqld stop

      But while doing upgrade found that directory is empty with no my.cnf file in it.

      Test:

      # cat /etc/redhat-release
      CentOS Linux release 7.6.1810
      # rpm -qa | grep Percona-Server
      Percona-Server-shared-compat-57-5.7.24-27.1.el7.x86_64
      Percona-Server-shared-57-5.7.24-27.1.el7.x86_64
      Percona-Server-server-57-5.7.24-27.1.el7.x86_64
      Percona-Server-client-57-5.7.24-27.1.el7.x86_64
      # rpm -qa | grep Percona-Server | xargs rpm -e --nodeps
      # rpm -qa | grep Percona-Server
      #

      # ls -l /etc/my.cnf.d_backup-20190101-0958/
