      Description

Hi, many many many times have we been bitten by the apparmor/selinux "bug" of protecting datadir and other actions that mysqld tries to do at startup. It would be ideal if mysqld_safe (or some other pre-flight check) advised in the case where mysqld attempted an action but was unable, and determines it is due to the apparmor/selinux ruleset in place. I assure you that all of Percona Experts will thank you and shower you with countless beverages of your choice if you can accomplish this one small, petty, almost irrelevant feature request. Please with sugar on top!
