percona-server-server-5.6 5.6.44-85.0-1.xenial
Description
Today during the updates from the official percona repository, all servers running 5.6 had their MySQL root password removed. So login to mysql using root works now without password. this affects many servers which are managed by us.
Was this intended?
And as they have been removed I guess there is no way to roll this back and I have to manually fix this on the servers.
Maybe you can fix this for people which have not applied the updates by now.

Christian Rusa
