      The following simple test performed on idle (no connections) almost "empty" instance of MariaDB 10.2.7 started with all defaults but port and datadir shows the problem:

      The problem is repeatable with 10.2.6, but is not repeatable with Percona Server 5.7.x or MariaDB 10.1.x.

      Without these options everything works as expected:
